August 2021

And now pictures from August!  :)

Her curls get so bouncy in the summer!

Julia's friends came for a short visit in August!

Marky took down the crib we bought for him 17 years ago.  This crib has held precious babies!

Annie found a good muddy spot-

Tucker got a stomach bug in August.

We had a book club for "The Five Children and It"-

And football started in August!

The little boys brought back Little Striker!

We have had a rash of pencil markings on the wall.

We found clues-

And the suspect was in disguise, but we figured it out.  :)

We hosted dinner and a decade for young families on the feast of the Assumption-

The kids started their Tuesday/Thursday co-op classes in August.  This year, Tucker is old enough to go- he is taking Literature I (which is grammar, writing and Literature) and General Science on Tuesdays, and another science class on Thursdays.  Julia is taking Biology, Geometry and Art.  Marc is taking Russian History, Academic Organization and Personal Finance (a Dave Ramsey course).  He is also taking Physics.

Always fun at the farm-

We have spent the year doing college tours.  We have done "official" tours of six colleges, and visited countless more on our own.   This is touring Troy University, my alma mater.

We found my name on the Trojan Walk.  It's been quite a journey deciding colleges, maybe I should write about it.  My biggest advice is to tour colleges when KIDS ARE ON CAMPUS.  Almost every school is beautiful and impressive, but you have to see the students- look at your child- and see if they "fit".  I had ideas of where I thought he should go to college, but you have to get on campus and see for yourself where you fit best.

After the first week of school, we went to the beach!  :) I always try to go to the beach in August right when school is back in session- it's much less expensive and crowded.  This year, we took the children to Panama City Beach.  All the places in Destin were full, and we wanted them to see the crystal clear water.  It was beautiful.

Our first trip we didn't have to pack a pack-n-play!  She sleeps in a big girl bed!

Marc, Marky and Julia came a day later so that Marc could play in his football game.  We went to Wonderworks-

Annie is fearless and will pick up any crab-

Sadly, as is our custom lately, we had to go to the ER while we were there as Daddy got a kidney stone and was in agony.  We ended up coming home early.  He had a fever- he is never, ever, ever cold and he had chills.  We have gone to the hospital on our last three beach trips and then the last mountain trip we all got the flu.  Oh well.

Anastasia is getting less and less into taking naps.  She often turns her light on and "reads" in bed-

Children LOVE Little Striker and chase him all around-

He gets tired-

They decided to make a new one.  They used several boxes and spray painted it themselves-

A rare date night at the movies-

We had a PSR (Sunday School) kick-off dinner.  Father is praying with the children-

Here we are the day we toured Auburn University- we LOVED Auburn.  I love the "feel" of the campus.

Celebrating a friend's birthday at book club-
