Day at the petting zoo

The weather was just so gorgeous today we had to get outside.  At breakfast Julia was reading her book on birds and said, "I have never seen a peacock."  We reminded her that she'd seen them before at Oak Mountain petting zoo, and next thing you know we were in the car on our way!  This is right up sweet Sissy's alley.  Our baby girl loves animals with all her heart.

We spent the most time at the horses.  Sissy showed the boys how to feed them.  When I said, "we don't have anything to feed them", she said, "just pick some clover- they will love it."  :)  She was right!

After the petting zoo we headed over to the nature center where they rehabilitate injured birds.

On the way home we swung by the park-

A nice, relaxing way to spend the Lord's Day (and no we didn't skip Church).  :)

This and that

Here are some other shots I found on my camera this week.  :)  Our sweet older neighbors always give us their left over birthday/anniversary cakes.  :)  We are happy to assist.

After I get the children dressed on Sunday morning they usually come sit in the bathroom and talk to me while I finish up.  :)  Julia has not got the little boys loving horses as much as  she does.

After church last Sunday- if you leave Charlie alone for even 5 seconds he will take his shoes off.  It's his signature move.   :)

Trip to the Mountains- Part 3

On Thursday we got up and headed home in the morning.  BB and Poppy looked at some stuff in Pigeon Forge, and we trekked on down to Chattanooga to see a cool civil war museum we'd heard about.  It was right on top of Lookout Mountain and a great stop on the trip home.

This diorama had tons of tiny lights and as the movie behind it described the troops activities the lights lit up and you could visualize exactly where they were.  It was very helpful.

FYI- the picture above is NOT on the edge of a cliff- it only looks like it is!  :)
