This week we've had some fun field trips. On Tuesday I took the older children to the art museum to see the Norman Rockwell exhibit. It was so nice- you can't not love the warmth and humor in his work- it's just precious.

We stayed and worked on some collages in the children's museum-

Poor little left-handed Sissy- she can never find scissors that work-

We also "stepped into art" and then met Aunt Shana for lunch :)
Wednesday we went on a really fun field trip to the Botanical Gardens.

Charlie and his little girl friends-

Tucker and his buddy got in the fountain and wet before we even got going on the tours-

The first hour of the trip we had a man from the Audobon society teach the kids all about bird watching.

He gave all the children nice binoculars to use and taught them how to use them-

We saw a mockingbird, a tufted titmouse and cardinals on our trip through the gardens. Two other volunteers from the audobon society helped us and had books to show us the details up close. After the bird watching we went on the "Alabama woodland" trail. They gave the kids magnifying glasses to hunt for clues about habitats-

They broke up in groups and wrote down the things they found-

Tonight Tuck and Sissy had their soccer games and Marc took them to that.

I took Charlie and Marky to the boy scout halloween party- I loved the pack leader's costume-

Brave Sir Marky led the flag ceremony-

And I conclude this post with random playroom pictures of Charliebear-
