Summer days continued

These lazy days are SO NICE.  I just love not having a long to-do list and places to be every day.   The children keep themselves busy- especially Tucker.  He is the best at finding things to do and being content.  I find him doing all types of projects.  He's obsessed with numbers and math right now and is always playing on the calculator or flashmaster.  He made tons of letters with these things yesterday-

The other day I found him doctoring one of Charlie's old scrapes from last week.  :)   He had TONS of ointment on Charlie and three bandaids.  They were so proud of themselves.

I tried to take two off so he'd only have one band aid and Charlie said, "no tank you- I need all fwee."

Tuck's favorite place is the pool.  Today as I gave him his bathing suit he said, "This is a fine, quality suit indeed!"

But all this swimming gave Julia her first case of Swimmer's Ear.  It is painful.  She likes to rest in Mommy's bed when she gets her ear drops- and let me say she fights the ear drops- it's no fun.

Charlie is over the high chair- he's totally a "big boy" now- just ask him.  :)

He actually was a HUGE helper today in the yard.  All the children helped us weed and spread pine straw.

We love playing Apples to Apples Jr. as a family.  It is so much fun and everyone laughs the whole time.  We played tonight and as usual Tucker- who uses NO strategy whatsoever- won.  :)

I got just a few seconds of video from when Tucker was judge- my phone battery died.  He is so precious.  Tucker- you keep things light around here.  We are so grateful for our little court jester.

Welcome summer

I'm am loving that is is finally summertime.  I love spending almost every day here- at our neighborhood pool.  Marky rides his bike when we come.  :)

And I love eating the fresh summer food.  Last night we had steak kabobs, corn on the cob, scalloped potatos and I said, "if you eat your supper you can have watermelon for dessert."  Definitely a summertime statement.  :)

And at night after supper there is time to play with Daddy because the sun is up til 8:00!  I love it!

And even the rain in the summer is not so bad when you have this cuteness in it.  :)

Day at the farm

Marc has a ton of work this weekend and we are all a bit sick, but we managed to have some fun anyway and headed out to BB and Poppy's house for a day a the farm Saturday.  While wearing their bathing suits- the children got a tour of the farm and all the fruits and vegetables that are growing-

Poppy is showing the children the potatos, the okra, the watermelon, etc-

Poppy has THREE ROWS of pumpkins growing from the seeds from ONE pumpkin we saved last year.

The tall things are sunflowers-

We swam in the pool for a long time and then Poppy cooked out steaks for lunch.  After dessert we went fishing.  Daddy took the two big boys in the canoe-

And Mommy took Charlie BY MYSELF out on the paddle boat.  He had a great time until he dropped his favorite fishing pole and it sank to the bottom.  Oh he cried and cried.

Sissy wanted to stay on the dock- she actually wants to catch fish and she likes it quiet-

It was so hot the fish weren't biting.  Sissy did manage to catch a turtle though-

After the hot fishing we cooled off in the gazebo with watermelon-

And here is sweet Charliebear after church this morning-

Now we are off to our neighborhood pool to wind down the day.  :)
