Divine Day

On Sunday afternoon Julia rode horses for an hour,  and afterwards I said, "why don't we go back to that nature preserve we went to on Friday and swim?"  My precious, adventuresome husband said yes and we were off!   It was truly a marvelous, amazing, wonderful day.  The beauty just took us in and we were all peaceful and joyful.

Tucker rode the waterfall slide a million times.

Thank you, Lord, for your gorgeous creation and time to enjoy it.

This and that and Sunday pics

This week was fun and busy.  Julia went to her zoo science class on Wednesday morning.  She loves it!  The boys and I walked around the zoo while she was in class.  I love how Marc loves his little brothers and knows them well.  I feel like it would have been harder to get to know them if he'd been in school all day with activities all night.

We loved seeing the black bears-

At one point Charlie fell down and big brother had to carry him a while.  Precious moments.

That afternoon we went to a homeschool class at the library on Forensics.  A police officer talked about crime investigation, fingerprinted all of the children, and let everyone sit in his police car.

Wednesday night at Fraternus the boys all brought their swords in.  Marc worked so hard on his.  It really was a transformation.   From the first rough cut-

Marc, all by himself, sanded it down, rounded the sides, and used the dremel to carve the Fraternus "F" and Paratum Cor Meum (My heart is Ready) into the sword.

He also carved the Jerusalem cross and Christus Vincit (Christ conquers).

One of the side things came off so he rounded it made it like a battle ax.  He stained it by himself as well and added the leather to the handle.  Great job Marky!

On Friday we went to a field trip at a nature preserve.  They learned about trees (we measured trees and saw that bigger trees grew on the sides of the hill, while smaller trees were at the bottom).   The docent also took them on a geology hunt, and Tucker brought home limestone and sandstone.    The docent assured me this fuzzy caterpillar was not poisonous.

Charlie, as usual, was "tired about this."

Tucker is getting more and more responsible.  I'm so proud of his progress.  He's now in charge of watering all the plants (which is a big job- we have a lot).

And he and Charlie tried to make their own lunch Saturday.  Nice work, boys!  They were so proud of themselves.

And a few Sunday pics-
