Staycation and Weekend at the farm!

BB and Poppy offered to take the children for a weekend as a birthday present to Marc!  What a treat!!!   The children had a ball!

BB and Poppy's neighbors took the children over to their property which used to be a civil war camp!

This Gazebo was built on the land where two canons sat to guard the camp.

Old stone wall built by army-

Stone steps built by civil war soldiers-

 They found some woodchuck homes-

Feeding the fish-

BB got Julia a new horse- she named him "S'more".

They all want to sleep in the same room-

Saturday they all loved driving their toys and riding bikes-

P.S. Tucker is a knight's costume not a tunic.  ha!

Tucker and Charlie found some mussel shells and brought them home.

Poppy had work for the boys to do, which they loved!

Sunday they wanted to go fishing again.  Marky caught two fish and then Poppy said, "stop catching fish!"  The water was freezing!  :)

The water is way down because of the draught!

BB told Charlie, "You can have dessert if you eat at least 1/2 of your hamburger."  Done and done. :)

She also taught Tucker how to blow a bubble with bubblegum- he is so proud!

Meanwhile, back at home Marc and I were staying busy.  We went out to dinner to Perry's Steakhouse, which is new to our area.  It was delicious and they had a jazz band playing.  Then we went to a movie.  That night we had house guests because my old high school had a playoff game in the area.  Fashionista Holly's son plays for the team, and they came to spend the night with us after the game.  We had a great time visiting and stayed up past midnight talking.  We had a nice donut breakfast with them the next morning and then they hit the road.

All day Saturday we worked on the house.  We changed tons of lightbulbs in the ceiling, we put in new towel racks, totally cleaned out Julia's room, cleaned the basement, did tons of laundry- just tried to get ahead a little!  That night we went to a wedding that was so much fun.  I'm not used to big Catholic weddings.  This one didn't start until 7 p.m. and we didn't get to the reception site until after 9.  There was tons of food and a lot of dancing to the band.

Such a great weekend with my hubby.  Thank you BB and Poppy for helping us and loving our babies so well!
