Tucker and Charlie have LOVED robotics this year. Charlie is only in 4th grade, but they let him play on the middle school team so that he and Tucker would have the same practice time. He turned out to be an excellent driver! Their team has competed twice. In the first competition, they tied for first and then lost in overtime. The second competition was the regional competition and THEY WON! Tucker and Charlie drove in every round and won the whole event! These robots are designed and driven by the students- the adults DO NOT design the robots. I am so proud of our guys designing and driving a winning robot!
And now, random pics from the phone. :)
We always have a herd of deer eating deer corn in our side yard.
Amazon boxes do not go to waste in this house of crafters-
After 2 1/2 long years, Julia FINALLY got her braces off!!
A few Sunday pics-
Tucker took woodworking at our homeschool co-op and loved it! Each student designed what they wanted to make. He wanted to make a desk for his room! Pretty ambitious- and we have not finished it yet.
He has even come to our house to help Tucker complete it-
We love the rock climbing gym by our house- they boys could stay there for hours.
The boys found a stack of bricks behind our fence and built the most amazing fort. They made homemade mortar-
That flag is not a surrender flag- it says "Fort TC"
They later added a WORKING fireplace-
And then a day or so later we realized Charlie was covered head to toe in poison ivy-
We had our first official field trip since last March! We did a trip to the state park and learned about birds and animals in vernal pools. It was very interesting and so fun to be out and about all together again!
Those are salamander babies!
And now look at this little Irish baby in her shamrock dress! :) Annie Rosie is just as happy as she appears- always smiling and laughing.
Laetare Sunday-
And now a few pics from St. Patrick's Day- Annie wore her dress to "Baby Friends"-
The children helped me make a yummy meal of homemade Irish Potato soup, sausage, salad, and bread along with cake!
We even made "snakes in the grass," to remember the story of St. Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland. :)
Charles took Drama at homeschool co-op and was in a presentation on the last day of class-
It was a long passage, and he had it "mostly" memorized!
I asked the boys to make a little train track for Annie to play with and they went all over the playroom-
Marc, Marky and Tucker went to the Fraternus Excursion the other day. It was a long day of hiking, praying, games and talks and ended with a supper/bonfire!
Speaking of boys, I am always amazed at how sports bring strangers together. When we go to the gym, it doesn't matter who is there- Marky will usually end up in a pick up game of basketball.
Soccer season has started for the three boys-
And their biggest fan-
On St. Joseph's Day, the church had the usual Italian tradition of a St. Joseph's altar with fun foods.
We went to the coolest event recently called "Cowboy Day"! Julia rode in the Cowboy Day parade!
It was such a fun day. A bunch of cowboys stole a safe and blew it up. Then the lawmen came and there was gunfight and the lawmen won! We were back in the old west.
