Fourth of July trip- Day 1

Well, our close friends go to the beach every fourth of July with their extended family, but this year their extended family had another engagement.  So they had an empty three bedroom condo in Long Boat Key that they invited us to enjoy for free!  Our friends were just around the corner from us.  We couldn't turn down a free beach trip, but driving over 10 hours with Charlie bear is TOUGH!

Even packing the car with all the beach stuff was tiring, but the children stayed occupied making snow with the crape myrtle flowers.







When it came to car riding the object is to keep Charlie occupied.  We kept the books, movies, snacks and toys rotating!



He loves books-













We drove half way on Tuesday night and stayed in a hotel, which the kids think is awesome.





And after driving ALL DAY on Wednesday in the rain and through traffic jams we made it in time to eat dinner with our friends and see the sunset on the beach!!
