Did you know different army companies were given different colored horses?
We watched a little movie about the experiences of the various generations of Infantrymen. It was so touching- we love our armed services!
For breakfast on Wednesday, we took the children to Waffle House for the first time. It was a hit!
Before heading out of town we stopped by the National Civil War Naval Museum. Talk about interesting- this place was filled with things we had never seen before.
You can find the musem behind a huge replica of the USS Water Witch.

The ship to the right is a reproduction of the USS Hartford, from which Admiral Farragut shouted, "Damn the torpedoes- full speed ahead," during the Battle of Mobile Bay.
This is the CSS Jackson- the actual ship base. It sank in the war in 1865 and was brought up in 1961 and put in this museum. It was built by Horace King, who was born a slave. When we saw his picture, Marc said, "Hey- we learned about him in Huntsville- he was a bridge builder as well." He also built the floating stair case in the Alabama State House that we toured earlier this year. I love it when it comes together.
Replica of the CSS Albermarle- we went inside it and watched an movie.
After such a long trip, we were all tired- especially those of us who are four. :)
P.S. Landin gave Charlie that sheep and aunt Amber gave Charlie matching sheep slippers- all from Ireland. He said, "I can't wait to get home- I will have a Feast of Sheeps!"
