This and that and Poppy's Birthday

We celebrated Poppy's birthday last night.  It's always such a treat to go to the farm.

BB made Paula Deen's "Not Yo Momma's Banana Pudding".

The children loved seeing the chess piece cookies.  :)

Charlie learned to ride a bike last night.  Marc started to get him going and then he just took off and rode the rest of the time like he'd always been doing it.  :)

As usual, Poppy got shirts- wrinkle free like himself!  :)

In other news, our pregnant deer had their babies.  We are running a little deer nursery with baby deer in the side yard.  It is so sweet!

And the orb weaver spiders are back-

The fire department came by the other day and opened the fire hydrant to flush the pipes.  The children were amazed and played in the water-

Friday was the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.  We made our annual "Cross Cake" and it said, "Christus Vincit" (Christ conquers!) before Charlie added a "few sprinkles."  :)

We read the books above and watched "The Origin of the True Cross" by Bob and Penny Lord.  We also attended Mass Friday evening.  Marc and some children went to a High Mass at the Cathedral, which was sublime.  Marc Jr. altar served at the convent that night.

Daddy met us for lunch the other day- hope you can eat with one hand, Daddy!  Baby girl got really comfortable and fell asleep.  :)

Can we talk about how precious baby girl is!  I love her in her church dresses!

She loves her mobile by the way.  All of our babies have had the symphony sounds mobile and loved it.  It doesn't always match the room perfectly, but I love it so much we use it anyway.  The black and white is so good for their vision. When people tell me they don't have mobiles I am always shocked- it's a big part of our day.  :)
