He's 15

Well Marc turned 15 this week!  It's an exciting time- he's getting his braces off next week, he has gotten his learner's permit, and he's about to be a sophomore in high school.  Time is flying!

Marc you had a great 14th year.  You turned 14 in April last year. Soon after that you had a crew team regatta in Chattnooga-

You had you last art show- you don't take anymore.  We loved your drawings!

In May you had your last piano recital-

And you sang in the boys choir Spring Concert (and were a Section Leader)-

In May we went on a wonderful beach trip and you were the first one to spot a dolphin on the dolphin cruise and won a prize.

In June you went on an AMAZING 26-day trip to Rome!  You studied Latin and History with professors in the mornings and then in the afternoons went to see what you had studied!  You had the time of your life and saw the most amazing things.  You got to altar serve at the Vatican and swam in the Mediterranean Sea twice.  You also saw Assisi, Castel Gondolfo, and Ostia.

When you got home you met your little sister, Anastasia Rose, who was born while you were away-

You ADORE Annie Rosie and you built all her gear- car seats, high chair, stroller, exersacuers- you built it all!  You are such a good brother and take great care of her-

During the summer you went to Fraternus Ranch (where you white water rafted) and Choir Camp, which ended with a concert-

In September you started high school!  You have great classes here in town at your two-days-a-week co-op, and you take an online history class with a college professor.  You are learning a lot!

We had a fun trip to the mountains in October- you rode the mountain coaster and ice skated and did bumper cars on the ice.

And you won money in our neighborhood costume contest for your awesome Marshmallow man!

In November we went to a dance and had all our family here for a week for Thanksgiving.  Annie was growing!

In December you altar served at dear Father Lambert's funeral.  You also served at Bishop Foley's funeral this year.

And you had a wonderful Christmas concert and Christmastime.

In January you joined the lacrosse team for our local public high school.  You have really enjoyed it- you scored a goal on your very first game!

We had portraits made in February- you are looking so grown up!

You also went on a Fraternus excursion and did all the high ropes courses in February-

In March our family went to Disney!  We had an epic trip with four parks in one day!

Then you and Daddy went with the Birmingham Boys Choir on 9-day tour of Ireland!  It was beautiful!

So I would say that was a pretty amazing 14th year!

Marky, we all adore you and rely on you to take care of us.  You are so responsible and our resident handyman.  You work hard keeping our home running smoothly.  You are such a huge help with Anastasia.  You install and move her car seat for us all the time.  You have gone with me to all of her checkups and carry the heavy stuff.

You are an excellent student and all your teachers have told me how they enjoy having you in their class.  You answer a lot of questions and participate in class.  I heard that more than one teacher has said, "besides Marc, does anyone know....."  Ha!  You have dissected 10 animals in your Biology labs this year and thought it was easy.  You have done great in Spanish and apparently have a "knack" for it.  (You did NOT get that from me- that's all Daddy's genes).  You have finally caught up to Daddy in height and he is your best friend.  You have an excellent and refined sense of humor that we adore.  You laugh so hard at everything you shake.   We love you brother, and love watching you turn into a young man.  Thank you for being who you are- we all adore you and thank God for such a wonderful boy to lead the way for our other children.

We didn't have a birthday party this year- but we sang Happy Birthday and had brownies!

And we took you to get your learner's permit this morning!  You even drove part of the way home!
