Tucker's birthday party

Per our usual, and per his request, Tucker had his birthday party at Pump It Up.  :)  We had a great time.  I threw this party together in about ten seconds.  They only let you bring 15 kids, which is hilarious because most of my friends have four to six kids each.  So we decided to just have a few families from Tucker's art class, and it worked great.

His favorite book in the world (right now) is The Scrambled States of America, so our theme was the United States and flags in general.  Each child had a state flag on their nametag, which thrilled Tucker.  He was Nebraska because in the book Nebraska is the nicest state.  :)    We used state flag stickers to make cupcake toppers and then just grabbed our own maps and flag placemats from around the house to use on the tables.

Tucker's first gift to open today was his "Tucker" shirt-

And he loved his stars and stripes hat.  :)

BB came and fell in love with the many chubby-cheeked babies-

Lining up to go to the next room....

And if you are curious, yes, all of these children are homeschooled.  That's how we can party on a Monday morning.  :)  I will say Marky took a math test before the party and we were home by noon and did all of our school subjects today.

Wind tunnel time!

In the middle of eating, Tucker jumped up and handed out American flags to everyone- totally on his own.  So cute.

Then it was present time!

Since we were home by noon, Tucker spent all afternoon playing with his new toys- mainly drawing with his new art things and working on his new wall map.  I took Sissy to horseback riding that afternoon.  She was excited to wear her new coat- it has the name of her barn and her name embroidered on it.  Such a sweet girl.

She was fighting to stop Domino from eating grass- and I said, "why not let him have a snack?" and she said, "Mommy, we aren't supposed to let them eat when they are wearing a bridle."  Sissy  knows the rules.

Tucker said he wanted to go to Steak and Shake for supper so he could have a birthday cake shake.  Done and done.  :)

P.S. He loves his globe from Zaza and Grandpa that lights up in the dark!

Be sure to look at the post below to see how we ended our 12th night of Christmas!

Twelfth night- We three Kings

Tucker had a wonderful, awesome birthday today.   It began with a birthday party with some friends (pictures to come), and an afternoon playing with his new toys- most of which were art or geography related.  Tonight after a fun dinner at Steak and Shake we came home and did our We Three Kings reenactment.  :)

Marky brought gold, Tucker the frankincense and Charlie brought myrrh.

Sissy was the Star of Bethlehem and then later, the Blessed Virgin Mary.  :)

Evil King Herod :)

Charlie loved this whole event and begged to wear his king costume to bed.  Sorry Charlie.  :)

Sunday pictures

Today I woke up with Tucker standing over our bed saying, "Mommy, Daddy....this is the last day I will ever be five-years-old!  Tomorrow is my birthday!"  It almost broke our hearts in two.  Last Sunday pics of five-year-old Tuck Tuck.  :)

Sissy said she can't smile if she's cold so this didn't work.   :)
