Wonderlab 2017

This week Julia, Tucker and Charlie went to an art and science vacation Bible school at the church where the boys went to moms day out.  It was such a sweet time.  They did many science experiments and learned a lot about air and air pressure.  They also did several art projects.

These three have such fun together.  They came in our room Tuesday night to show us several made-up routines to songs.

Last night they had a big cookout with jump castles and an art show.

And they made giant fountains by putting Mentos in Coke-

I have a better picture of it from last year-

Each class made a "quilt" together- Charlie is showing me his orange and blue quilt square "for Auburn"-

Charlie's art-

He said, "I made the fish orange and bwue for Auburn!"

And his class made lighthouses.  Charlie said, "I decided to color mine exactly like the St. Augustine lighthouse!"  And he did!  He even remembered to add the little red house beside it!

And Tucker's work-

He made a sheep as a gift to Charlie-

And Sissy- she drew all of these designs-

They were supposed to make their soup can about something they love- she loves blueberries!

Meanwhile back at home, they used an old box to make a "boat" and straws, string, and paperclips to make fishing poles, and paper fish.   They enjoy playing so much more if they make it themselves.  If I gave them a "fishing kit game" they would have played with it one second and moved on.  They played with these for at least an hour.

They "sailed" the boat over to the playhouse and put the fish in the bucket and Julia pulled them up.

Tucker really wanted me to take his picture with this tomato and send it to BB-

And Charlie took a picture of his block castle with my phone and said, "it's for your bwog."  :)

The other night as he was sleeping in Marc's top bunk he said, "Wook!  I am holding up the ceiling!"

Marc is home!

Early Wednesday morning Marky and the touring Boys Choir landed back home.  I can breathe again.  :)

The last two days of the trip were fun.  They went to Tacoma and Seattle.   Mt. Ranier overlooking Tacoma-

The last concert of the tour- at New Hope Presbyterian Church in Kent.  They sang with the Ranier Youth Choirs and had dinner with them.

Then Tuesday they finally made it to Seattle!

They walked passed the "gum wall"-

And they enjoyed going up in the space needle-

They visited the Chihuly garden and glass museum right next door-

Saw the troll under the Freemont bridge-

They had lunch and walked through Pike Place Market-

I had to relax my "we don't take selfies in this family" rule for the trip because I wanted to see his sweet face!  So we would say "good morning"-

So he could say "good morning" back.  :)

Their wonderful leader, Mr. B, and his wife did not fly back with the boys, but stayed on to do a Canadian tour for their 40th anniversary.  The boys all hugged them goodbye.

And as always he prayed over the boys-

They left Seattle at 10:45 p.m. and flew all night.  I think they were supposed to sleep, but I don't think they did.  :)  At least Marc got to see the sunrise from the plane-

This was a marvelous trip- and our boy's first time traveling without a parent.  It all went seamlessly.

P.S. this is Mount Saint Helen's without cloud cover.

So happy you got to go on this tour, Marky!  We are proud of you!
