Eucharistic Congress, Sunday pics, this and that

A few pictures from this past Sunday- red, white and blue edition. :)
(Marc Jr. has gone to a Great Books program for two weeks)

So I was noticing how terrible my hair was looking.  I needed a fresh start- 5 inches off and a keratin treatment and I am a new woman.  :)

For my birthday the children put on a "living card."  Whichever child was wearing sunglasses was impersonating me.  Julia said, "Thank you for teaching us to dance," and then danced all crazy like I do.  Tucker said, "Thank you for teaching us to sing," and did a funny singing voice with a lot of "ya'lls" and "hey hey" added in.  (I do not sing that way).  :)  Charlie said, "Thank you for teaching us how to drive," and pulled up to a car and said, "stop texting, moron!"  :)  Hmmm, I don't know where he got that idea?  I love my babies.

This weekend was our diocese's first Eucharistic Congress.  It's basically a giant Catholic convention at the civic center with speakers and vendors and most importantly a Eucharistic Procession through downtown on Friday and a giant 4,500 person Mass on Saturday.  We participated in all of it and it was wonderful!

Marc served for everything with the Pontifical Servers.

It was an amazing weekend.  The whole Eucharistic Congress was such a blessing.  It was wonderful to see the diversity within the Catholic Church.  We had a gospel choir, a Hispanic choir, a Vietnamese parrish, folk dancers, you name it.  We all came together for the love of Christ and His Church.

We got Marky and Landin to the airport at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday.   Landin was going home, Marky was heading to his Great Books program.  We hear from him every night and he is loving it.  They are reading Orwell, Aristotle, Thucydides, and taking a Rhetoric class.   They are learning to debate and will have a big debate competition at the end.

In the evenings they have fun events like a bonfire, contra dance, bowling, hiking, games and a lot of folk music and singing.  Yesterday they had a "Battle of Lepanto" competition where they made boats out of cardboard and put two team members in them.  Marc's boat was the last to sink so they won.    They coated the cardboard in Crisco to make it water resistant.....for a minute.  :)

This week we went to the science center for the first time in ages.  Anastasia had never seen the "baby section".  :)  She LOVED it!  She crawled around happily for over an hour!

She thinks that baby in the mirror is hilarious!  :)

This week was my birthday.  We met BB and Poppy for lunch!

We went to the splash pad with friends this week.  I didn't pack a bathing suit for Anastasia because I figured she would watch.  Nope- little sister LOVED LOVED LOVED the water.  It would splash all in her face and she loved it.  :)

Poor Sissybug got soaked while helping Annie.

We brought a trash bag for Charlie's arm.  It stayed dry.  :)

Every night little dumpcake gets a bath, lotion, pajamas, sleep sack, Brendan bunny and stories.  After story it's a bottle and bedtime.  It the sweetest part of the day.

Oh how we adore this happy little angel girl!!!
