This and that

One great thing during the pandemic has been the weather.  Most days have been lovely days to be outside.  We go to the park almost every day and walk.   Fresh air always helps things.

Annie always ends up on Daddy's shoulders before it is over.

Marky won't stop growing. He is so tall now.

Lessons continue.... I make them do instruments and choir in the basement, but, believe me, I hear it all.  :)

I have enjoyed cooking more than I ever have.  Last week I had meat defrosting and bread rising before 10 a.m. and felt like a super hero.  Having a plan is so satisfying.

The boys found a bulldozer building set and put the whole thing together by themselves.  They were very proud.

I think Anastasia is going to be a crafty child.  She LOVES to color and use a pencil already at one!

We used to have a large playpen in the corner of the playroom and we called it "babyland."  It was the size of the mat under the slide here-

We opened the gates and went across the entire playroom and now babyland has tripled in size.  She loves it!

I am so happy we saved Julia's kitchen set.  It has been in the attic for years.  This week during a nap time we got it out of the attic, along with the rug and play food and redid babyland.  She loves it so much.   She makes fruit salad and feeds her baby dolls.

This little grey crib was my doll crib when I was a baby.  It used to be brown.  I spray painted it and she uses it for her babies.   :)  She loves to turn on the mobiles for her babies.

She is really the happiest baby we have ever seen. She smiles and cheers and says "yay!" and "hooray!" all day every day.  I cannot thank God enough for our happy, smiley
baby.

These boys are so good to Annie Rosie.

They love to read to her in her room.  She had toddled off by this point.

Anastasia got her first tutu in her Easter basket.  She LOVES it and dances all around.

Mass may be closed, but we are still able to go to Confession and to pray in the empty church.

I......love.....you!

Evenings at the park-

We didn't plan to get in the water, but it was just too inviting.  Julia rolled up her jeans and took Annie for us.  :)

These two are truly BEST friends.  They are together all day every day and have the best adventures.  And if it's possible, I think they have gotten even sweeter during this time at home.

This is from yet another night at the park.  We love throwing the bikes in the back of Marky's truck.

I will say- it is tricky telling a one-year-old they can't play on the playground because there is a pandemic.  We had to keep scooping her up and redirecting.  :)

Last week, Daddy made "Green Eggs and Ham" for dinner.

Anastasia's hair is quite curly.  If I don't brush it- it's is all curls after a bath.  :)

Learning some life skills through the pandemic.  Julia learned to iron napkins.

The boys learned how to hang a television-

This was my desk when I was little.  My grandmother painted it with strawberry shortcake and my name.  :)  Anastasia loves it just like her siblings did.

Last Sunday was Divine Mercy Sunday.  We made homemade angel food cake and a divine mercy dessert.

I bought Annie an apron and chef's hat along with some cooking dishes and play food and she LOVES LOVES LOVES it all.  She wears her apron and cooks every day.

We hung that little blue shelf that we've had for years as a place to put her tea pots, and hang her aprons, oven mitts, etc.  She loves it.

She has had many tea parties with her adoring brothers and sister.

The nice weather and time at home means we cookout several times a week.  All the boys know how to grill now.  Marky often grills himself burgers for lunch.  It's so nice.

I made cheesy beer bread this past week- it was wonderful.

April 23rd is the feast of St. George the dragon slayer, patron saint of England.  We have loved St. George ever since Marky was little and big into knights and castles.  He has a painting of St. George in his room.  We try to make a dragon cake if we can.  This year the two little boys helped me and we had so much fun coming up with way to fix up our dragon.  And this is the FIRST year we actually had green food coloring!

Last Friday morning we spent at the park.  It was so much fun.

We never had a chance to have an Easter egg hunt this year because it rained on the days we had hoped to do it.  I didn't worry, and I even put the baskets and plastic eggs in the attic.  Tucker found out and explained that under no circumstances would we be skipping the hunt.  So finally on Saturday evening we had our egg hunt.  I was kind of glad because Anastasia got to wear her pretty dress I had hoped she would wear for egg hunting.  :)  Bunnies are for Easter, but also because bunnies are Anastasia's very favorite animals.

I can't tell you how my heart swells when I see pictures like these.  I love these sweet children so much.  I am so blessed to have them.  Thank you, Lord, for these angels.

By the way, smart little Annie knew exactly what to do.  All I said was, "Look for eggs and put them in your basket."  And she was off and running.

Sunday we went on an adventure to see a new park.  It was a little drive away, but it is known for it's 30 carved trees.  The weather was so perfect; it was just a wonderful time.

We took our kites!

And finally, Julia keeps up the horseback riding.  She loves it so much.  Her favorite thing is to free ride all around.

And FINALLY, today I watered the front porch ferns and two little birds fell out!  I had no idea we had a nest of FIVE baby birds in the fern.  We got gloves and returned them to the fern and now I will be extra careful.  They are so precious!  Momma bird is feeding them well.
