Julia's 16th birthday ended up being a week-long celebration. We had our family celebration by going on a family trail ride (except Anastasia and I) and having a fun hibachi lunch. She got this ukulele that should could play so well by the end of the day!
The little boys walked to Target with their own money and got Julia a body pillow.
A day or two later she all-day drama practice for her play and went out to a birthday dinner with her drama friend!
I gave them money and they went shopping at the book store and had fun.
Then on her actual birthday we bought her a horse! She has wanted a horse all her life, and now her dream came true! Meet "April Blessing"! Her owner had a death in the family and needed someone to take April immediately, and we stepped in and had a horse by the end of the day.
We ran to BB and Poppy's farm and got the barn ready! Everyone pitched in!
She is part Quarter horse and part Fresian.
We have hosted the girls' youth group Wednesday-night Bible Study all year. We had them come a little early for a 16th birthday dinner for Julia!
And then a few days later she played Gwendolyn in "The Importance of Being Earnest." She was wonderful! The whole cast was perfect!
Her hair is so thick it's hard to curl so we experimented with hair and makeup for rehearsals. Hot rollers look good for a while, but the curl falls out.
It lasted MUCH longer with the curling rod.
And pink lipstick vs bright red worked better-
Getting ready!
BB had her first outing in a wheelchair to make it to Julia's play! They play was two nights. We were so touched by so many friends making the drive to see Julia!
Cat fight begins-
Friends again!
