Julia's birthday, Palm Sunday, etc.

Juliabug turned 14 during this pandemic.  Last year we didn't do anything for her or Marky on their birthdays, and I told them this year would be BIG birthday party years.  So I set out to make the day at home feel special, even though we couldn't see anybody.

I made her a strawberry shortcake sheet cake.  It's the first time I've used a jelly roll pan to make a cake.

Her big, surprise gift is her first saddle!  She has been riding for over seven years and never had her own saddle.  We were so happy for her to get this!  The man who makes these Western saddles also makes them for Disney!

She asked for a taco dinner.  Daddy praying and thanking God for our sweet Julia!

Anne of Green Gables books as well as the Megan Fellows DVDs (she has never seen them!)

She was shocked to find she had a matching bridle and breast collar!

P.S.  The cake was supposed to be covered all over with strawberries, but when I went to add them to the homemade glaze, some little boys had eaten them!  I didn't label them as special, so there is no one to blame.  It was still delicious.   :)

After dinner we set up for a campout and bonfire.  :)

We had a wonderful night.  We had prayer time and made s'mores by the fire.

Then we decided to watch a movie on the porch!  We've never tried using the projector for a movie, but it was so much fun.  :)  We watched "The Call of the Wild," which is one of Julia's favorite books.

Julia said it was one of her favorite birthdays ever.  It was really a magical day and felt like we were not in quarantine at all.  We love you Julia and are so proud of the sweet girl you are!

Palm Sunday was sweet.  Tucker made us fake palms with construction paper.  :)

That afternoon Daddy taught the boys a life skill- how to pack up a tent!  :)

That afternoons Aunt Amber had us all meet up and play trivia games online with Zaza and Grandpa!  It was so much fun!  She even made Julia a birthday video! :)

Monday morning we took Julia to the barn to try out her new saddle.  She LOVES it!
