This and that and baby's room

So many pictures from the last week.  We used our spring break to work on the house a lot.   BB and Poppy came and stayed with us for a few nights while their new hardwood floors were being put in.  Poppy helped Marc install a new ceiling fan in the great room and new door knobs and locks on the outside doors downstairs.  I reorganized the kitchen drawers.  We finished hanging pictures in the boys' room and finished baby girl's room!

I don't have pictures of the boys' finished room, but I am already loving Marky having a full-sized bed in there along with the bunk beds.  I found him reading to the little boys so sweetly!  (That painting is of St. Mark).  :)

He's such a good big brother.  The other day heading to the book store he and Daddy were swinging Charliebear up into the sky.  I thought how fun it must be to have such a big Daddy and brother to fly you so high!

They all recently received "Rival" Nerf guns that shoot foam balls.  They have had some epic battles in the woods and they often play "conquer the playroom" upstairs.

And the downstairs Lego area has been filled with new creations-

We still do a lot of reading aloud in our home.  I love it!

For Lent we read The Book of Life: The New Testament Retold.  We've read it before, but I love it so much I wanted to do it again.  And the chapters are just the right size to read at night after supper and have a little discussion about.

We also watched my favorite Easter movie for children- The Miracle Maker (it's FREE on Amazon Prime)-

A movie that we stumbled upon but really enjoyed was Hill Number One.  It's also free on Amazon Prime.

We did our annual "wash the porch and furniture for spring" routine this week.  We took all the furniture off and scrubbed everything with soap and water.

Marky did most of it by himself.  Thank you, Buddy!

We bought ferns and planted flowers and now it's all just right!

And we finally, finally tackled the nursery this weekend.  This room was Tucker's nursery and Charlie's.  Here is Tucker's nursery-

This was Charlie's version-

Then it became Charlie's big boy room a few years ago-

So last week we moved Charlie's stuff into the boys' room and started painting the beige walls a soft pink called "ballet slippers."  :)  As always- everyone helped and we worked quickly.  Before lunch time we had painted the room, taken down the tape, hung the curtains and put up the baby bed!

We still had Julia's baby bedding, so I ordered curtains to match.   Yes, we need to change the ceiling fan.  :)

The fabric is "Over the Moon Toile" and I love how sweet it is with nursery rhymes.

Marc and the boys got the crib (which was Marky's 14 years ago) put together in no time.

And the "mostly" finished room- I am so happy to have this ready.  :)

Every picture on the wall was one of Julia's-

So the upstairs reorganization is mostly complete now. I am so glad to have such a hardworking team to help get things done quickly!  Now we can enjoy Eastertide.  :)   Last night after supper Marc and the children went up to the neighborhood tennis court to play.  I am so happy to have spring days here again.
