Trip to Mountains- Day 4

On Monday morning we were so excited to drive up the mountain to Ober Gatlinburg and see some snow!  They have man-made snow so it snows no matter what!  :)  We were fortunate that while we were up there it began to "really" snow as well!

Everyone was so excited to go snow tubing!

See Charlie standing beside the double tube?  He and I went down the hill and he cried his eyes out the whole time.  He would NOT go again.  We decided to go inside and watch from the heated dining room.  :)

"That went too fast Mommy."  :)

I'm happy to stay inside and watch.  :)

The ski slopes were open to.  We saw a lot of snow boarders and skiers.

After an hour and half of snow tubing we came in and had lunch at the Seasons of Ober restaurant.  Some of us had Gatlinburgers.  :)

All in all this was a wonderful little weekend vacation.  The mountains are our happy place.  Seeing God's majesty in His creation and breathing the fresh mountain air always helps put things in perspective.  Thank you, Lord, for this trip.

Trip to Mountains- Day 3

On Sunday we went spent the day at Dollywood.  We had a quick breakfast of muffins and milk in the hotel lobby.

Then we went outside and waited for the trolley to take us to the special entrance for resort guests.  Resort guests also get "fast passes" and don't have to wait in line on most rides!  :)

Our first stop was to watch their Christmas program, "Christmas in the Smokies".

Charlie drove Daddy around.  :)

We tried to get on Blazing Fury.  Julia freaked out and cried and Daddy had to take her out before riding.  I took Charlie who cried and said he thought it was "too dark and too fast."

Marky, Tucker, Marc and Charlie rode the Firechaser Express.  Charlie cried the whole time even though he begged to ride it.  Julia would NOT ride it.  :)

So Sissy and I spent a good bit of time watching the others ride.  :)

We went to the Holly Jolly village and got to meet Rudolph and the Abominable Snowman.  :)

We rode the Dollywood Express train.

Charlie also begged to ride this little baby roller coaster and then cried, "I don't wike coasters!"

The bumper cars were hilarious.  Tucker could NOT drive his and blocked the entire course with his sideways car.

While the older children rode the swings with Daddy, Charlie and I rode the flying elephants over and over again.  :)

At night everything is so beautiful!

We got back to the hotel and had dessert in the lobby by the fire.  Then we went swimming again.  We had the place to ourselves because everyone else had checked out on Sunday.  :)
