St. Patrick is such a fascinating saint! He grew up in a comfortable home in England when he was captured as a teenager by Irish pirates and taken to Ireland as a slave. While in slavery there he found God or I should say God found him. Six years later he escaped his captivity with divine intervention and found his way home. Yet, he had a vision where the people of Ireland had written him thousands of letters to come and live with them. He was so impacted that he made it his mission to go to Ireland and convert the Celtic people- many of whom were caught up in the false religion of druidism. He went to seminary and became a priest and later a bishop and returned to Ireland to lead the mission that eventually converted almost the entire country to Christianity. The legend is that he explained the Triune God to the Celtic people by showing them a three-leaf clover. Below is a part of St. Patrick's breastplate, the most famous prayer attributed to this great saint:
...Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ in breadth, Christ in length, Christ in height, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.

Beautiful prayer. How I pray to see Christ before me, behind me, beside me, in me, in my enemy (that's where I'm having the most trouble), in my friends...everywhere, all the time.
Love you,
