And we've got a Nutcracker collection up and running-

Friday afternoon I took the children to BB and Poppy's so they could stay for the weekend while we had the party. The older children got to go to an awesome art party and paint a dog in a doghouse. Each got to name their dog and paint the name on the bowl- Marc's was "woof" ("after Noah's dog toy- remember Mommy?") and Julia's was named "BB". :)

Saturday Marc and I killed ourselves getting ready for the party and then b/c the camera was still missing got no pics of it at all. Here are the only shots from Marc's phone that proved it happened-

While we were mixing and mingling the children had a fun time at BB and Poppy's!

BB called this pic "He ain't heavy- he's my Charlie"-

Sunday we got the children and headed to our annual Las Posadas. The Sisters did such a great job with it. (It's a Mexican tradition) We go door to door behind children dressed like Mary and Joseph, shepherds and angels, and at each door we sing a song to asking the owner to let them in. Then bad people sing a song encouraging them to NOT let them in and the inkeepers, grocers, owners one after another say there is no room and we walk and pray together until the next door. Every year we do it outside the convent, but this year it rained and we did it all inside. It was sweet, but the children couldn't use their candle lanterns inside.

Please let us in!

Charlie and his favorite girl- MC-

That inkeeper in the upper right corner is Daddy! He talked about how he had "rooms, camels and tents- not a charity!" Then he said, "do you have a confirmation number? Are you a member of Jabeel's diamond platinum awards club?" Then he said, "try down the street at the Schmidtz Carlton." :)

We finally prayed enough that at the last door they let us in and we celebrated! A sister with a violin played "heavenly angel music" and then we all sang O Come O Come Emmanuel and Salve Regina before having hot chocolate and cookies-

Also- on Sunday they had the birthday party for Jesus at church and for the third year in a row Marky won for his poster in the contest! :)
We got a coffee table for the front living room last week because I wanted a better place for the kids to do puzzles and games- the den is just too full of babies for puzzles to work. Now I've created a puzzle monster- Marky works them ALL the time! We love it and it's something fun to do together- Thursday we did two- our galaxy and London-

Also on Thursday Marc's scout troop had Santa come to their pack meeting and bring hot chocolate and snacks- Tucker and Julia thought that was a good reason for them to come along...

Julia froze up with Santa- she just stood there. Marc said she didn't say a word. Santa was asking her questions and she just stood there. :) Finally she squeaked out "horses" and took a quick pick with him-

Tucker, however, who doesn't meet a stranger was tickled to get the old man's ear one last time-

"Yes, Santa, Thomas the tank engine...."

Enjoyed the beautiful weather this week-

That's Charlie and his buddy Christopher-

Well, I've just about emptied out Marc's phone's pictures and now that I have my camera we are caught up and back to normal.
