State Bar Conference- Destin, Fl

Well- we just got back from the state bar convention.  We go every year so Marc can get his CLE credits, and it is just a blast!  We are ever grateful for a firm-paid family vacation.   This year we stayed at the Sandestin Hilton right on the beach- we loved it.  We got there late Wednesday night.  The view from our room-

Thursday Marc had meetings all day long so I took the three children to the beach most of the day (Charlie was with BB and Poppy).  :)

Our little setup.  :)  On Friday Marc let us rent big chairs, but we still brought extra umbrellas to make a shady spot for sand castles.

The big kids loved their boogie boards (left over from last year) and Tucker loved his green "surf board".

The water was gorgeous and we saw tons of dolphins-

We ate lunch at the poolside restaurant-

We spent the hottest parts of the day at the indoor pool-

Thursday night we went to our law school's alumni reception and saw a lot of old friends and professors.  Then we went out to an amazing Italian restaurant that had live musicians.  The children loved it.  :)

Our room was called a Jr. Suite- it had a king bed and then bunk beds built into the wall as you walked in- perfect!  Tucker didn't mind sleeping on the sofa cushions on the floor-  he said, "it's a little Tuck-Tuck sized bed, Mommy."  :)

Friday Marc was "off" all day and we had a great day at the gorgeous beach!

And I was able to finally do some beach reading-

That night we got cleaned up and headed out to dinner and shopping.  The outlets there had a Hartstrings and I love that place for little girls.

We ended up at Dippin Dots almost every night- it's big Marc's favorite place.

When we got back to the hotel the convention was having a big silent auction and dinner/dancing event.  We stopped in and made a couple low bids and won four things!  We were shocked!  We got a handmade wood inlay chess set, a framed floral embroidery, a gift certificate for a portrait oil painting, and this playmobil remote-controlled pirate ship.  Marc put it together tonight and can't wait to get it on water.

Saturday morning Marc had meetings so I took the children to the indoor and outdoor pools for a while-

We took a break half day to get lunch and window shop.  :)

When we got back the water was perfect, and the sky was overcast, so it was a great day time to hit the beach- we stayed until almost sundown-

Tucker loved surfing-

It was a great trip and relaxing even though it was a conference.

Thank you Daddy for working so hard for us!
