Superheroes and Stories

I took Captain America -- known around here as "Cap'n 'Merica"-- to lunch with me and to Walmart the other day.  I did feel safe.  :)

I feel like this whole Advent season was one of my least favorite- only because I never calmed down into any type of peace and reflection.  We have, however, read our books and done our prayers every night- and we sing carols every night too- so that is a win.

One of the best things we ever bought Tucker EVER- is his easel.  He writes on it all day every day.  He has decided he wants to be an artist and has been drawing himself as a paintbrush.  He also wants to wear all black every day so he will "look like an artist."  :)  Here he drew Marky as a doctor, Charlie as a football (b/c he will grow up to be a football player), Tucker as paintbrush and Julia as a nun.  :)

And we have a binder of stories the children have written and Tucker noticed he didn't have any in there so he wanted to write one.  He stood by Julia and she typed up his story today.  It was precious.  He corrected her spelling and punctuation!  He has real strong ideas about the use of exclamation points.

Scrambled States of America
By: Tucker M. Ayers

Once upon a time it was Christmas Eve and all the states were gathering their decorations.  Wisconsin was eating his Sunday cheese.  Their Christmas tree had ornaments, and the ornaments looked like states.  The star was Washington D.C., and the lights looked like the U.S.A.!  The states did not climb the tree.

Well the states were gathering everything for their Christmas tree and they could not find the bow!  The states put up the Christmas wreaths on their windows and then they found the BOW!!!!  And you guess who found the bow?  Michigan!   So Michigan gave the bow to Hawaii, and Hawaii put the bow on the tree.   Then they said the rosary.
