We had monkey bread for breakfast, then Daddy started the fire with our yule log- last year's Christmas tree. I've said before that Marc loves the Christmas carol so he's happy to have a bit of "Christmas past" as part of our tradition.
And then the we opened presents. We have very generous extended family-
Baby girl was SO HAPPY at her first Christmas. :)

Julia was excited to get a sewing kit-
Marc got a few building sets- I call it the next level past Lego-
Annie got this sweet doll from Aunt Amber-
Charlie was excited to get a sheep- I had said he would not get a sheep.

Marc had a "big boy" Christmas- he got a tool set, work gloves and work boots. :)
We got several new board games to try out-
Zaza got Tucker this gun- he loves it!
This year was a big Battlebots year-
This barn reminded me of BB and Poppy's at the farm-
She LOVES this Peekaboo Puppy from BB and Poppy-
BB and Poppy left after presents- Poppy had to get on the road to Virginia early and wanted to have time to rest before the trip. We went to the 10 a.m. Christmas Mass at our church.
It is so powerful to say the Nicene Creed and genuflect on Christmas Day when you get to the words,
"who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost and of the Virgin Mary, and was made man;" We are celebrating the INCARNATION- God putting on flesh for our salvation. The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us- Amen and Amen!
It was a last minute decision to go at 10 (we normally go later in the day), so Annie was still in her pajamas-
We finally got a picture of Anastasia and Cecelia- her little friend who was born just a few months after her-
We came home and had a relaxing day with everyone playing with their toys. We had nice Christmas dinner as well. Tucker received a Lego Mass Kit and he absolutely loves it.
Ad orientem- :)
This is how the Good Shepherd carries His sheep- so Charlie does too-
Annie loves the talking Mother Goose that Zaza sent her-
And her peekaboo puppy is hilarious-
By the way, Julia sewed this little Christmas gnome-
She is such as sweet big sister.
Saints before the altar bending,
Watching long in hope and fear,
Suddenly the Lord, descending,
In his temple shall appear.
Sinners, wrung with true repentance,
Doomed for guilt to endless pains,
Justice now revokes the sentence,
Mercy calls you—break your chains:
Though an infant now we view him,
He shall fill his Father's throne,
Gather all the nations to him;
Every knee shall then bow down:
Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ, the newborn King.
Watching long in hope and fear,
Suddenly the Lord, descending,
In his temple shall appear.
Sinners, wrung with true repentance,
Doomed for guilt to endless pains,
