Tucker's First Communion

Today was a very special day for Tucker.  He had his first Holy Communion.

BB was on hand as always!

By the way, Tucker's boutonnière was made by Daddy.  :)

Priest:  "The body of Christ."
Tucker:  "Amen."

“I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
John 6:51

 His Sunday school class-

After the reception we went to lunch-

Congratulations Tucker!  We are so happy for you!  And you were so happy today- your little dimple was always out!  We love you sweet boy- and God loves you even more!

P.S. Friday we made this little video where you showed off your flag skills-

P.P.S.-

Here's a little peek at Marky's first Communion day five years ago- my boys are growing up!

This and that

On Saturday Marc and Marc Jr. went on an all-day excursion with Fraternus at Oak Mountain State Park.  They hiked over three miles through the woods and learned how to geocache.  They had lunch, played football, Frisbee and games and then went to another member's home for more basketball, games and a cookout.   They had a wonderful time.  Over 60 dads and boys went.

While they were gone all day the littles and I had a great time ourselves.  We started out the morning at the gym.  They played in the kids academy while I went to water aerobics and then we all went swimming until lunch.  The boys like their matching swim shirts.  I said, "Tucker, do you want a Captain America shirt like Charlie has?"  And he said, "I will if they don't have any geography or planet shirts."  :)

Speaking of Tucker's love of geography, at the gym they do arts and crafts a lot.  They all made these fish and Tucker's was of course a map fish.  :)

After lunch we drove out to Anniston to see the Museum of Natural History.  We've been there a million times, and we still love it.

Having Sissy with us is like having a tour guide.  She knows so much about every type of animal.  I bought her a bird guide when we left because ours was completely worn out.   She loves reading about animal habits.

Last week we had the end-of-the-year art show.  Here are a few samplings.  Marc's-

and Charlie's-

Today we went on a tour of the Golden Flake factory.  It was very interesting- I had no idea they only had one factory in the country and it's in Birmingham.  They also make Publix brand chips.

And we all got three bags of chips at the end of the day!

After the field trip I ran the car to get some work done.  We walked next door to BK to pass the time.

This afternoon Marc was still out on the water when I went to pick him up from rowing.  He was all alone- he says you can't hear anything but your own boat. He just loves the peacefulness of it.
