Botanical Gardens and American Boychoir

Last night we had the boys from the amazing American Boychoir School- a boarding school for 4-8th grade boys in Princeton, NJ.   They are on a national tour and came through to sing with Marc's boy's choir.  It was a lot of fun to see how similar and different the groups are.

My favorite song they sang was this one-

We had two of the boys come home with us to spend the night after the collaborative event.  We got back here, had snacks, played ping pong and went to bed.  This morning we served them breakfast and sent them on their way.  They were such polite boys- we truly enjoyed hosting them.

We had a field trip to the Botanical Gardens this morning.  Tucker overheard me talking about it and said, "Mommy- when are we getting to these mechanical gardens?" :)

They had a docent take them around and teach them all about Tropical rain forests.  I learned A LOT I didn't know- it surprised me.

The boys were sure to bring their "V-noculars".

"Mommy wook at me!  Take my picture on dis wock!"

We stayed and had a picnic.  The weather was perfect!

Overheard:

Tucker:  Mommy, how many people live on Earth?
Mommy:  Ask Marky.  :)
Marky:  Around 7 billion (I knew he would know)
Tucker:  Okay- is that number including us or is it really 7 billion and six?

Today I was reading some Easter books to the boys and got to this one about a bunny wondering what was inside an egg he found-

Mommy:  Maybe a little boy?
Tucker:  Certainly not! None of these animals could be found in eggs- and certainly not a human boy- who wrote this?!"

Today he said the lenses on his "v-noculars" were smudged-

Tucker:  "My crocs look blurry through these!  This is the worst day of my life!"

Never a dull moment with my dramatic sprite.  :)
