Today we studied the virtue of mercy and St. Faustina. We began with the Little Flower prayer and introducing each other and then they colored while I talked about the life of St. Faustina-

We discussed what mercy is and why it is required of us. We talked about the mercy of God and how He bestows it on us. Then we talked about the 7 corporal works of mercy and how they apply to a person's body. We thought of practical ways we could do these works of mercy-

Then we talked about the Spiritual Works of Mercy and how they apply to a person's soul. We talked again about how we can do these Works of Mercy in our day to day lives-

Then the girls worked on their "mercy" album pages while we listened to our CD and learned the verse for the month-

Then it was snack time!

We had "Divine Mercy" strawberry shortcake- the red and white for the water and blood that flowed from Christ's side-

It was so nice to be in a church because we had a chalk board to use for lessons- plenty of room to get around- and the girls were able to go see an actual painting of the Divine Mercy image and then bless themselves with Holy Water. We will probably take them into the church for different lessons this year. Afterwards we played on the playground for over an hour. A sweet day with friends. (all of our group except one who was absent today)-
As a take home the girls took handwriting practice sheet for the memory verse-

This beautiful Divine Mercy icon coloring page-

And I found these awesome mini-books that the girls can make that have the Spiritual and Corporal works of mercy- Julia is very excited about doing it-

"Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy." Matt 5:7
