ALL ABOARD! Our train car- the Silver Maple- was made in 1910 and had original windows and hardware-

When we arrived at the pumpkin patch they had a corn maze, bean bag toss games, tattoos, a jump castle, a hay ride and wine tasting! :)

We rode on an "open-air" car on the way back-

After the train station we went to BB and Poppy's house and had a fun afternoon. Poppy grilled out steaks and BB made a delicious pumpkin dessert and then we all went for a long hayride! (Julia was being a scarecrow) :)

Let's roll!

Poppy took us to see the wheat field that Tucker and Marky planted last month-

After the hayride Poppy made a fire in the outdoor fireplace so we could have smores! :)

On the way home we listened to one of our new C.D.s that the children love. It has all the songs from western shows. They can now sing all the words to Bonanza-
We chased lady luck, 'til we finally struck
Bonanza
With a gun and a rope and a hat full of hope,
we planted our family tree.
We got a hold of a pot full of gold,
Bonanza
With a horse and a saddle,
and a ring full of cattle,
How rich can a fellow be?
the Lone Ranger, Rawhide (I love this song now), and their favorite "Davy Crockett".
Born on a mountain top in Tennessee
Greenest state in the Land of the Free
Raised in the woods so's he knew every tree
Kilt him a b'ar when he was only three.
Davy, Davy Crockett, King of the wild frontier!
Charlie cries every time we get in the car "more Day-bee Cwocket pwease." Marc and Julia have learned all the words to "Ballad of the Alamo" by Marty Robbins, which I LOVE and find haunting:
A wonderful day enjoying the autumn weather and being together.
