Today we met a few friends at a town about 40 minutes away to play at a splash pad. It turns out this is the town my mom's father grew up in. When I was about nine my mom and grandfather brought me up here to see the school he went to and his old home. It was so much fun to be back today and see the sights and remember Pawpaw. :)
My grandfather's school. He told me that when his teacher would leave the room he would sneak out the 2nd floor window and climb down the rocks to go play! :)
Back in the day-
After playing at the splash plad and adjoining playground we ate on main street at a old fashioned soda fountain place that has been there since the 1920s- so my grandfather no doubt ate there!
Tucker has been begging for poster board because he wanted to draw his planets (he's back on a planet kick big time). I finally gave him one today and he was thrilled- he told me he was going to add all the dwarf planets, which he apparently knows.
Tonight after supper we had these Czech spa wafers that Daddy brought home from Czech Republic. They are thin little wafers with chocolate inside- so delicious!
Charlie ate his while wearing his new Czech Republic hat. Daddy bought one for both him and Tucker. He got Julia a wooden marionette princess puppet, and he got me a lace tablecloth and pretty scarf. He did well!
